We completed the design and construction of a new modern single storey glass extension to an existing Edwardian London villa to replace an existing conservatory. The new extension was designed to house a new open plan kitchen, dining and living space to make the most of the side wards facing garden.
We designed a simple composite roof structure which enabled the new extension to be open plan with no downstand beams and externally to be a very thin roof place over the new glazed doors. Bi-fold doors enabled the entire facade to open up to the garden.
A new Kitchen design was undertaken with the clients and the addition of a feature pyramid rooflight brought in more natural light. The garden was brought into the extension with the same floor tile flowing from out to in and simple external lighting means the space can be used all year round.
The extension was completed and the client is hugely happy with the design and how the extensions works for them as a family.
